Safeguarding & Children’s Welfare

Posted on

The school takes Safeguarding very seriously and all staff have been trained by Leicester City Council and in-house to recognize the multiple types of abuse that children experience and how to deal with disclosures in the safest manner.  We have strong links with Social Care & Safeguarding, the Leicester Safeguarding Children Board, Prevent (St Philips Centre) and the network of other Muslim schools in the City.  Members of our Senior Leadership Team have had Safer Recruitment training, Inter-Agency Safeguarding training & Prevent training, and all staff have been vetted by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Our Safeguarding & Safer Recruitment policies (below) are based on the Statutory Guidance “Keeping Children Safe in Education” (July 2015) and “Working Together to Safeguard Children” (March 2015) published by the Department for Education.  Both documents have been included for your reference.
